PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide furniture in which an upper part of a backrest follows the form of the back of a seating person to bend as the back on the backrest is bent backward, so the back is bent backward from an upper part to a head part, and in which axial thickness of the backrest can be thin. SOLUTION: In furniture such as a chair, a sofa, and a bed in which a back spring 2, a back plate 3, and a crossbar 4 provided on an upper part of the back plate 3 are included in a backrest, a height of the crossbar 4 is set to be a height in the middle of the back of a person seated on a seat 5, and the back spring 2 are disposed in a height direction of the back plate 3. An upper part 6 of the back spring 2 is protruded above the crossbar 4, so the upper part 6 of the back spring 2 is bent backward as the back of the person is put on the backrest. The back spring 2 is composed of two or more springs disposed at an interval from each other in a width direction of the backrest, lower ends of the springs 7 are fixed to a back spring bearing 8 in the backrest, upper ends of them are connected to each other by a connection device 9 disposed in an arrangement direction of the springs 7, and they are fixed to the crossbar 4 around the crossbar 4.
