PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an applicator in which strength of brush hair varies depending on the direction of force applied to the brush hair. SOLUTION: A recessed hole part 26 for planting brush hair is formed at a tip part of a brush shaft, and brush hair 28 is implanted in the recessed hole part 26. In this case, a part of an opening edge of the recessed hole part 26 is extended forward, or the opening edge of the recessed hole part 26 is inclined to a surface S1 perpendicularly to the length of the brush shaft, so strength of the brush hair 28 varies depending on the bending direction of the brush hair 28, thereby this applicator can be easily used differently for application to a large range and application to a narrow range.
