摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively perform jerking suppression control at sudden acceleration or deceleration, in a vehicle which changes load control method according to loads and conducts a low stratified-charge combustion for a predetermined time between a stratified-charge combustion and uniform combustion. SOLUTION: During normal running, a stratified-charge combustion control in which air/fuel mixture is concentrated around a spark plug and an uniform combustion control in which the air/fuel mixture is distributed uniformly in a combustion chamber are performed selectively. When switching between the two controls, a low stratified- charge combustion in which the fuel is injected on both compression stroke and intake for a prescribed time (S5, S9, S12). Under a condition where a jerking suppression control which suppress longitudinal vibrations of a vehicle by controlling the engine is conducted, the stratified-charge combustion and uniform combustion are switched directly without going through the low stratified-charge combustion (S4, S11), Therefore, even when the amount of fuel injection is increased in incremental steps, during the jerking suppression control, from a range where the stratified-charge combustion should be conducted to a range where the uniform combustion should be conducted, there is no possibility of the concentration of the fuel around the spark plug be becoming excessively high or low, and the jerking suppression control can be conducted effectively.</p>
