<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the weight per unit volume, increase the rigidity, fly a ball in a long range and stabilize trajectory of the ball. SOLUTION: A golf club head is formed with a hollow body 8 having a face 11. Magnesium alloy is used for a head material to increase the thickness of the face 11 more than the thickness of the body 8, without providing a core in the inner space 9 of the body 8 for supporting the face 11 with the body 8. The body 8 is manufactured in a casting method and the body 8 is heated, followed by pressing the material into the face formed portion of the body 8 in a forging method to form the face 11 which is naturally cooled in the air. Titanium nitride evaporation layers 12a, 12b can be provided on the inside and outside of the face 11 and the body 8.</p> |
