PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mandrel comprising a flexible polyester elastomer excellent in heat resistance, water resistance, heat-ageing resistance, chemical resistance and heat cycle properties and a method for producing a rubber hose using the mandrel. SOLUTION: A mandrel is formed of a thermoplastic polyester elastomer with a crystalline m.p. y( deg.C) satisfying formula y>=200+0.5x [wherein x is a numerial value being the substantial hard segment content (wt.%) of the thermoplastic polyester elastomer], a Vicat softening temp. z( deg.C) satisfying formula z>=50+1.5x and a tensile elongation of 100% or more.
