PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aliphatic amide compound capable of realizing a high printing density and excellent erasing characteristics as a color developing agent and a decoloring agent for a reversible heat-sensitive recording composition and excellent in stability of printed images with time and durability in repetition of color developing and decoloring by including a specific group. SOLUTION: This aliphatic amide compound is obtained by including p- hydroxyphenyl group represented by formula I (e.g. p-hydroxyphenylacetic acid eicosylamide). The compound can be produced by a method, etc., for thermally dehydrating, e.g. (A) an aliphatic carboxylic acid having a phenolic hydroxyl group represented by formula II with (B) eicosylamine (C20H41NH2) in (C) N- methyl-2-pyrrolidone. The component B can be produced by a method, etc., for reducing, e.g. (i) eocosanamide with (ii) lithium aluminum hydride in (iii) an ether. |
