摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power generator capable of performing output control with high precision demanded in demand control operation (mode 2) for an internal combustion engine and achieving high operation efficiency by the internal combustion engine and a control method therefor. SOLUTION: This power generator which is constituted by combining with a gas engine 10, is provided with an exhaust gas supercharger (TC), and is related to a system connected to a commercial power system electrically has a throttle 20 provided in an air intake system 12, a bypass line 22B bypassing the exhaust gas supercharger (TC) in the air intake system 12 or an air exhaust system 14, a bypass valve VB provided in the bypass line 22B, and a control unit 40 controlling the throttle 20 or the bypass valve VB. The control unit 40 fixed the throttle 20 in a fully opened condition, controls a degree of opening of the bypass value VB, and controls an output of the gas engine 10 when it should perform generated output control operation (mode 1).
