<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain mammalians other than human that can find the new functions of the sno gene by deleting the sno gene, provide the useful foothold for screening the carcinogens and for elucidating the mechanisms of occurrence and suppression of tumors and for development of preventive and therapeutic agent of tumors. SOLUTION: These mammalians are defective in the sno gene. The animal other than human is mouse and the sno gene-defective animals are prepared whether the defect is the hetero mutation or the homo mutation. Then, the sno gene defective animals or their cells including these genes are used to carry out the screening of the substances that may be candidates for medicines, for example, carcinostatic agents. In addition, the sno-defective hetero mouse shown a variety of immune abnormality and this mouse has abnormally high levels of Th1 cytokine derivative, for example, interferonγwhereby the hetero mouse has a tendency of causing ulcerative colitis.</p> |
