PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection valve capable of changing a shift amount of a valve member at arbitrary timing without causing response delay. SOLUTION: A spool member 50 has a first pressure receive face 58 and a second pressure receive face having smaller pressure receive area than that of the first pressure receive face 58 and a large diameter part 54 and a small diameter part 55 which are positioned on the axial line of a rod 27 by reciprocating movement of the spool member 50. Since operating fluid flows into a first pressure chamber 71 and the spool member 50 receives larger force from the first pressure receive face 58 than the second pressure receive face when a fluid passage 63 and a fluid passage 64 are mutually communicated, the large diameter part 54 is positioned on the axial line of the rod 27. Since operating fluid flows out of the first pressure chamber 71 and the spool member 50 receives larger force from the second pressure receive face than the first pressure receive face 58 when the communication between the fluid passage 63 and the fluid passage 64 is shut off, the small diameter part 55 is positioned on the axial line of the rod 27. A lift amount of a valve member is changed by the travel of the spool member 50.
