PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently fill a joint by forming a joint water stop material in a string shape formed of a pressure sensitive adhesive material, watertightly stopping water in a joint when inserting and pressing the joint water stop material in the joint, and continuously forming a recessed part extending in the lengthwise direction on a pressing side surface. SOLUTION: A joint water stop material 1 being formed in a string shape composed of a pressure sensitive adhesive material such as butyl rubber and stopping water by being inserted/pressed in a joint 4 is molded, and a recessed part 6 of a V-shaped groove is continuously formed on a pressing side surface of a string-like substrate 5. A surface layer 14 is arranged on a side surface 11 and a bottom surface 12 of the substrate 5 to prevent pressure sensitive adhesion at inserting time into a surface of the joint 4 at handling time, and a nonadhesive sheet 13 such as mold releasing paper and a synthetic resin sheet is arranged on an upper surface of the substrate 5. Next, a cover material F composed of a rubber water stop part having blade parts F3, F4 overhanging above and below core metal F1 and a body part F2 such as a cross-sectional U-shaped stainless plate and a covering material F5 of a soft synthetic resin is inserted/pressed in an upper part of this joint water stop material 1 to thereby enhance a water stop effect.
