PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a required resolution, and to speed up plate-making by a simple method in an plate processing apparatus for a heat-sensitive stencil plate. SOLUTION: A judging means 11 judges whether each line is a line contg. an edge picture-element on each line perforated by means of a thermal head 14. When the line is a line contg. a black picture-element, a platen roller 13 is made to low speed and perforation is performed by small intervals as usual by means of the thermal head 14. On the other hand, when the line is a line contg. no edge picture-element, whether it is a line contg. the black picture- element or a line consisting of only the white picture-erement is judged and when the line is a line contg. the black picture element, carrying speed of the platen roller is made to high speed and perforation is performed by large intervals and when the line consisting of only the white picture-element, carrying speed of the platen roller is made to higher speed than the speed when perforation for the line contg. the black picture element is performed.
