PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method for forming a white/pearl tone double layer coating film which can coat a polyolefin substrate with a white base coating and a pearl clear coating by a wet-on-wet way and closslinking/curing both coating films at 100 deg.C or below. SOLUTION: A polyolefin substrate is coated with a white base coating A which contains a chlorinated polyolefin (a-1), a hydroxy group-containing resin (a-2) and cellulose acetate butylate (a-3) and forms a white coating film adjusted at an L-value of 70-100 by a white titanium oxide pigment and aluminum powder and then with a pearl clear coating B containing a hydroxy group- containing resin (b-1), a polyisocyanate compound (b-2), and a pearl pigment (b-3). Both coating films are crosslinked/cured simultaneously by the isocyanate compound (b-2) in the clear coating B.
