PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent the direction, position, interval, and attitude of an article from being displaced in being transferred by erecting a member for receiving the article in the upper part of a rear conveyer transferring the article from the front conveyer. SOLUTION: When articles, for example a lot of fruits A are transferred from an alignment conveyer 2 in the front to a sorting conveyer 3 in the rear, the fruits A are received by a receiver belt 4 erected between the both conveyers 2, 3 and held thereby with their wrapped therewith, and then the fruits A are transferred to the center of the sorting conveyer 3. Then, when a belt 5 constituting the major part of the receiver belt 4 touches the upper side of the fruit A, it is deformed along the external face of the fruit A. The suspension part 5b of the belt 5 is deformed in the direction abutting on the side of the fruit A by the dead weight of the edge itself of the belt 5, suspended in such a state as extended along the side of the fruit A, and holds its suspended state so as to surely prevent the fruit A from being displaced.
