PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winder of simple structure, capable of easily taking up a given thread or string such as an emboridary thread, a ribbon and the like, indicating a color number easily replaceably with excellent reusability, housing remaining threads, strings and the like with excellent usability and utility, and of surely locking the end of a thread or a string to prevent the thread and the string from being entangled with excellent utility. SOLUTION: This winder is provided with an annular body 2 having a thread winding surface 2a in the outer circumferential surface, brim shaped thread guiding parts 3a and 3b erected at both the sides of the thread winding surface 2a of the annular body 2, plural thread setting parts 4 formed in a cut-out shape each toward the inner circumferential side from the outer circumferential peripheral part of the thread guiding part 3a, side wall parts 5a and 5b formed at both the sides of the annular body 2, a hollow shaped housing part 6 formed between the side wall parts 5a and 5b, and with an opening part 7 formed at the side wall part 5a so as to be communicated with the housing part 6.
