The seat of the chair has a seat surface with a flexible material layer (6) extending up to and above supports (4, 5) on opposite sides of and at a distance from the seat symmetry plane. Independent claims are also included for (a) the seat, (b) a method for making the seat, and (c) a method for supporting a person sitting in a (wheel)chair using this seat.
