PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To show the number or order of colors of embroidery threads, to show finished and unfinished pattern parts divided by color, to show a position of a pattern part of a color being embroidered, and to show the ratio of the gross number of stitches of each pattern part of each color to the gross number of stitches of the total embroidery pattern. SOLUTION: Colors of a plurality of pattern parts divided by color are sought in the order of sewing based on sewing data of an embroidery pattern to be sewn, and a plurality of color display areas Rr, Rb, Rg, and Rk of the same colors as of the pattern parts of such sizes as reflecting the ratio of the gross number of stitches of each pattern part to that of the total embroidery pattern are sought. And a color graph G with the color display areas Rr, Rb, Rg, and Rk arranged straight in the order of sewing is displayed on a color display 3. Whenever the display device receives data on the gross number of finished stitches from an embroidery machine, the device calculates a progress degree of embroidery on each pattern part being embroidered to find a display position of an arrow mark M corresponding to the calculated progress degree, and the arrow mark M is displayed at the position.
