摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly remove powder on the slide contact surface of a gear mechanism during operation, to improve slide characteristics and reliability of a gear mechanism, to improve maintainability, and to enhance running stability. SOLUTION: This gear reduction mechanism comprises a pair of gears 1a and 1b having a main surface; a slide contact member 4 having a surface making slide contact with the main surface of one of the gears; and capturing means 2a-2c and 3a-3c, capturing powder, with which at least one of the main surface and a slide contact member 4 is provided. Powder interposed between the main surface of the gear and the slide contact member captures and removes powder at a process of movement along with rotation of the gear, whereby the slide characteristics of a gear mechanism are excellent and a robot having high running stability is realized.
