PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dwelling house provided with a Japanese-style room which is capable of ensuring a wide verandah without sacrificing a garden, performing the distant feeling from the Japanese-style room, and affordable in size of the Japanese-style room. SOLUTION: A Japanese-style room 4 is provided adjacent to a concrete floor 3 connected to an entrance hall 2. A wide verandah 42 accessible from the concrete floor 3 is provided adjacent to the Japanese-style room 4, and a doorway to the outdoors opposite to the Japanese-style room 4 across a portion 42a of the wide verandah 42 in the longitudinal direction is provided. The doorway is set back with respect to an outdoor garden 46 to narrow only a part of the width of the wide verandah 42. In addition, the concrete floor 3 is extended between a part of the wide verandah in the longitudinal direction and the doorway, and a seating space 47 is provided on the doorway side of a part of the wide verandah 42.
