PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce costs of printed matters and recycle spent oils left after food production by using an ink containing vegetable oils regenerated so as to have a specific water content or less. SOLUTION: Vegetable oil used for food production are sorted according to the acid value, filtered and allowed to stand to settle. The supernatant is then collected and subjected to regeneration treatment such as decoloration with activated clay to obtain a regenerated vegetable oil with a water absorption of 0.3 wt.% or less, an iodine value of 100 or more and an acid value of 3 or less which prevents excess emulsification in preparation of inks and improves drying properties. A printed matter is printed with an ink containing the regenerated vegetable oil. An example of a composition of an ink for sheet- feed press is 10-20 wt.% of pigment, 25-30 wt.% of resin, 25-40 wt.% of solvent, 10-25 wt.% of oil, 0.5-1.5 wt.% of drier and 0-10 wt.% of adjuvant. Use of the regenerated vegetable oils as part of oils and solvents can reduce the amount of volatile organic matter compared to the inks using petroleum-based solvents. The vegetable oils include soy oil, rapeseed oil, cottonseed oil, sesame oil, olive oil and palm oil.
|
