PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition which has high flame-retardancy and also high limit oxygen index and further whose molded product has high flame-retardancy and excels in surface appearance or the like by including a specific resin, a phenolic resin and red phosphorus at a specific ratio. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including (A) 100 pts.wt. of a polyamide resin or a polycarbonate resin, (B) 0.1-50 pts.wt., preferably 0.2-30 pts.wt. of a phenolic resin and (C) 0.1-20 pts.wt., preferably 1-15 pts.wt. of red phosphorus. As for the component C, such one is preferably used that it is coated with a thermosetting resin (e.g. phenolic thermosetting resin) and has an electroconductivity (electroconductivity of the extract water from the filtrate diluted to 250 ml after adding 100 ml pure water to 5 g of red phosphorus followed by extraction treatment at 121 deg.C for 100 h and filtering off the red phosphorus) of 0.1-1,000μS/cm, preferably 0.1-800μS/cm, more preferably 0.1-500μS/cm.
