PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device in which the arrangement of the billet can be stably and rapidly performed even in the case where the billets are bent when different kinds of material in every strand are rolled at the same time in a multi-strand rolling mill which is used for rolling wire rods or the like. SOLUTION: In the billet arranging method by which the billets 8, 9 fed from two billet feeding tables 1, 2 opposite to each other are transferred from each feeding table to lifters 5 one by one with transferring devices 3, 4, next, two transferred billets are transferred onto a conveying device 6 by vertically moving the lifters 5 and conveyed into a billet heating furnace, the billets are received in two places with the transfer devices 3, 4 and received in two places with the lifters 5. The places where the billets are received with the transfer devices and lifters are in the range of 0.1-0.3 times the billet length from the billet ends.
