PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing hot-rolled steel sheets in which a long sheet bar can be used without joining sheet bars and slabs. SOLUTION: A sheet bar storing device 50 which is provided with deflector rolls 52 and a push-up roll 51 is disposed so as to store the sheet bars between a rough-rolling mill 20 continuously applying the rolling to the long plate-like hot material to produce sheet bars and a finish-rolling mill 30 continuously applying the rolling to these sheet bars to produce the hot-rolled steel sheets.
