PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance heat insulation performance in a cover for achieving energy saving by providing a double heat insulation layer defined by each part of space in the cover so that it may not close a steam passage in the cover. SOLUTION: Around a vacuum double vessels 3 escape of heat is prevented well by a vacuum insulation space 11 between an inner cylinder 1 and an outer cylinder 2. In association therewith, in an opening 7 of the vessels 3 having no heat insulation effect, double or multiple heat insulation layers 21 are provided. The layers 21 do not interfere a steam passage 9 by utilizing a surface of each part in double or multiple covers 8 which closes the opening 7 and/or some portion of a hollow layer. Thus, the layer 21 of the cover 8 restrains heat of liquid heated and stored in an inner cylinder 1 from escaping upward form the opening 7 of the vessels 3 without a trouble in discharge of steam. Accordingly, heat efficiency of the whole body of this electric hot water container or pot is enhanced to thereby attain energy saving. Since the layer 21 is within the cover 8 so that it can not be viewed from the outside and the normal style of the cover 8 is not damaged, and further there occurs no sanitary problem in the aspect of material of the heat insulation layer.
