PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering glycol components from an eluting liquid eluted from a reaction process economically in producing a polyester from an acid component consisting of terephthalic acid or of mainly terphthalic acid and an alcohol consisting maily of ethylene glycol and neopentylglycol. SOLUTION: This method for recovering glycol components is to store an initially distilled glycol temporarily, return a part of the initially distilled glycol into a distillation pot in the later period of the distillation and redistilling in recovering the glycol components from an eluting liquid generated from esterification and polycondensation processes by a batch distillation in producing a polyester from an acid component consisting of terephthalic acid or mainly of terephthalic acid and an alcohol component consisting mainly of ethylene glycol and neopentyl glycol.
