PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing an intermediate film for sandwich glass suitable for obtaining the sandwich glass which is not only good in blocking resistance during storage and handling workability when inserting the intermediate film between glass sheets but is excellent in deaerating and sealing properties in spite of the execution of preliminary press bonding at a relatively low temperature and is consequently ameliorated in the quality defect by the generation of air bubbles. SOLUTION: In the process for producing the intermediate film for sandwich glass by rolling a thermoplastic resin sheet 1 with a pair of embossing rolls 2 and 3 to emboss both surfaces of the sheet, the roll diameter of at least one embossing roll 2 of a pair of the embossing rolls 2 and 3 is <=1500 mm and the thermoplastic resin sheet 1 at the time of embossing impartation is embraced by the embossing roll 2 having a roll diameter of <=1500 mm, by which waving is imparted to the embossing recessed parts of at least one surface.
