PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable capacity type gas compressor suitable for reducing the number of parts of equipment, assembly man-hour, and weight. SOLUTION: An inner face of a front head 1 around a boss part 1a in which a control plate 2 is turnably fitted is formed as an annular plate receive face 1b opposing to a control plate face 2a, and an annular oil film 53 around the boss part 1a is formed between the plate receive face 1b and the control plate face 2a. The control plate 2 can turn smoothly due to lubrication action of the oil film 53 so that a thrust bearing which has been conventionally employed to improve turning operation characteristics is omitted.
