PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which a print section is fed with a stabilized ribbon tension even if the winding diameter of ribbon is varied. SOLUTION: Members for stabilizing ribbon tension are arranged on the ribbon feeding side 4 and ribbon take-up 5 side of a print section. The printer comprises a print section 3 for printing a thermal transfer ribbon 12 being fed from a ribbon feeding section 4 to a ribbon take-up section 5, in the way thereof, onto a recording sheet, a first ribbon feed means 6 disposed between the print section 3 and the ribbon feeding section 4, and a second ribbon feed means 7 disposed between the print section 3 and the ribbon take-up section 5.
