PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent hair from escaping from a space between comb teeth so as to fix hair so that it can be cut easily by incorporating a part to allow short comb teeth to protrude or retreat it between longitudinal teeth made of metal of plastic. SOLUTION: This comb device consists of three upper, middle and lower sheets of comb prepared by cutting out a sheet of acrylic plate, and the three sheets are superposed to be a triple layer comb with the middle 2 capable of sliding laterally between the upper and lower combs (outer comb) 1. The middle comb 2 is cut at its one lateral side to be a short comb. A spring 3 is incorporated in this comb device so that the short teeth of the middle comb 2 can slide out to a space between the teeth of the outer comb 1. When a protruding portion of a grip is pushed, the middle comb 2 is hidden by the outer comb 1. It takes time to fabricate the device according to such a structure. However, for mass production, parts are made from such a material as a metal or plastic by molding and they are assembled.
