The monitor of spot welding of metal parts comprises a non-destructive test facility. It analyses the dynamic resistance curve during welding, and the total energy applied, to give real-time diagnosis of the welds. The dynamic resistance and the total energy applied are compared with reference values for every spot weld, e.g. in motor vehicle construction.
