PURPOSE: A method for reverse direction decoding of digital audio data is provided to enable high speed recording by recording forward and reverse track at the same time. CONSTITUTION: A method for reverse direction decoding of digital audio data includes following steps. At the first step, the last frame header of recording audio data is acknowledged. At the second step, plurality of unit block data constituting corresponding frame are inverse quantized at a time based on the acknowledged header information At the first step. At the third step, data for various frequency bands are restored with maintaining continuity of unit blocks with respect to the data inverse quantized at the second step. At the forth step, the data for various frequency bands stored at the third step is converted to an audio sampling data with inverse sequence, and the result is output.
