PURPOSE: A method for detecting state of remote controller of gas boiler and apparatus therefor are provided to reduce the number of wires between a body of a gas boiler and a remote controller to two wires, so that an installation work is simplified. CONSTITUTION: In a method for detecting state of remote controller of gas boiler and apparatus therefor, the method comprises a first step(S2) for supplying electric power source to a microcomputer and a remote controller, a second step(S4, S6) for stopping electric power being supplied from the microcomputer to the remote controller in a proper interval(T) for a proper time period(A) after identifying the supplied electric power, a third step(S8) for applying the electric power being supplied to the remote controller for the stopped time period to a pull-up resistor and the remote controller and then dividing voltage, a fourth step(S10) for inputting the divided voltage to the microcomputer again, and a fifth step(S12) for making the electric voltage input again as a bit, comparing the bit with a data of a bit input previously, and then detecting the current state of the remote controller.
