PURPOSE: A variable volume type vane pump is provided to minimize energy consumption of the pump and prevent unnecessary discharge of fluid under a low pressure by changing a fundamentally excluded volume of a pump by moving a cam ring vertically depending on the change of pressure. CONSTITUTION: In a variable volume type vane pump, a cam ring(15) mounted in a pump housing(11) is formed of a rectangular body in which a vane of a rotor(18) is mounted and formed with a round space(15a). In the pump housing, a movement space(20) is formed with stoppers to restrict the distance of a vertical movement of the cam ring in contact with the upper and lower surfaces of the cam ring. A return spring(23) is disposed on the upper portion of the movement space to press the cam ring downward. A flow control valve is disposed at a discharge port of the pump housing to control an amount of the fluid discharged through the discharge port depending on the change of the internal pressure.
