E-MAIL SERVICE METHOD USING SET-TOP-BOX

PURPOSE: An e-mail service method using STB(set-top-box) is provided to enable e-mail service matching satellite broadcasting system at home without personal computer by supplying with e-mail service through STB. CONSTITUTION: An e-mail receiving process(518) receives e-mail which consists of data format from satellite broadcasting system and records the text data. A data detecting process(512) detects the text data recorded in the e-mail receiving process(518). An error judging process(514) judges whether the recorded text data are in error or not. A transforming process(520) transforms the text data into text data of standard form hangul code if the recorded text data are not in error. A process is included that displays the text data which is transformed into hangul font matching the STB. The STB consists of smartcard and modem.
