PURPOSE: An organic light emitting device with an improved contrast ratio is provided to certainly distinguish on/off condition of the device under a bright illumination, enhance efficiency in light emission, and apply to a field effect transistor and a photovoltaic cell. CONSTITUTION: An organic light emitting device includes a glass substrate(1), an ITO(Indium-Tin-Oxide)(2), an organic layer(3) comprising a hole transfer layer and a light emitting/electron transfer layer, and a metallic electrode layer(cathode)(5). The organic light emitting device is connected to a power source(6) of DC or pulse type. A conductive layer(4) is interposed between the organic layer(3) and the metallic electrode layer(5). The black conductive layer is a metallic layer of carbon black or a metal alloy layer. The metal alloy layer is aluminum-tungsten alloy or aluminum-molybdenum alloy. The black conductive layer has a thickness of 50A or below.
