PURPOSE: An RS-232C duplex interface device of a full electronic telephone exchange is provided to reduce kinds of duplex boards, and to remove inter-connector cables. CONSTITUTION: The first and the second I/O(Input/Output) processors(111,113) have duplex structures which process a command for outputting data transmitted through an upper main processor to a PC, a CRT(Cathode Ray Tube), a printer and a modem. The first, the second, the third, and the fourth serial I/O controllers(112,113,132,133) have duplex structures which process the commands of the first/the second I/O processor(111,113) as 16 channels. The first and the second RS-232C drivers(114,134) receive the 16 channels by controlling the first, the second, the third, and the fourth serial I/O controllers(112,113,132,133), and are try state buffers which have duplex structures capable of converting various data into electrical signals of an RS-232C. The first and the second duplex controllers(115,135) control the first and the second RS-232C drivers(114,134), and decide an active state and a standby state between serial communication boards. The first and the second edge connectors(140,150) connect the serial communication board in order that a back plain board can adopt the serial communication board. The first and the second 25 pin connectors(160,170) communicate through an RS-232C cable to output the data to the CRT(Cathode Ray Tube), the PC, the printer and the modem.
