PURPOSE: A card automatic cleaner of a thermal card printer is provided to prevent a damage of a thermal head due to a foreign substance and extend a durability of a printer by removing a foreign substance on a card by freely adjusting a cleaning time using a computer operation program and implement a best state of a card printer. CONSTITUTION: When a card is transferred by card transfer rubber roller apparatuses(10, 10' and 10''), a card(21) is transferred in such a manner that an adhesive roller(14) is closely contacted with a rubber roller(10') by a force of a spring(22) inserted in a stroke(23) of a solenoid(13). The foreign substances on the card are removed by the adhesive roller(14). After the foreign substances on the card are removed by the adhesive roller(14) for a certain times, in order to remove the foreign substances on the adhesive roller(14), the solenoid(13) is driven, and the adhesive tape(20) having a lower adhesive surface is placed between the rubber roller(15) and the adhesive roller(14), and the solenoid(13) is operated and closely contacted, so that the rubber roller(15) is rotated by the motor(11) and the gear apparatus(18 and 18') for thereby cleaning the foreign substances on the adhesive roller(14), and the adhesive tape(20) is wound on the rotation rod(17) rotated by the motor(11) and the gear apparatus(19 and 19').
