PURPOSE: An absorption machine with a refrigerant maintaining system is provided to control the use of refrigerant according to a system condition under the control of a microprocessor for effective operation of the system and prevent cavitation of a system pump and crystallization of absorption agent. CONSTITUTION: An absorption machine with a refrigerant maintaining system(50) includes an absorption cycle including an evaporator(19), an absorption element(20), a generating element, and a condensing element connected each other, a refrigerant pump(43) having a suction port connected to a sump(44) and a discharge port connected to a spray header(39) mounted on a heat exchanger tube and the evaporator via a supply line(47) for spraying refrigerant onto the heat exchanger tube and the evaporator, a refrigerant holding tank connected to the supply line via a bleed line(53) for conveying the refrigerant via the supply line partially, a feedback line(55) mounted on an upper part of the holding tank for returning the refrigerant to the sump when the refrigerant is filled in the holding tank by the feedback line, a drain line mounted on a lower part of the holding tank for discharging the refrigerant directly to the sump, and a drain valve mounted on the drain line movably between opening and closing position, wherein the evaporator includes the sump for collecting the refrigerant passing on the heat exchanger tube.
