PURPOSE: A pair of grippers of shuttleless looms for carrying and drawing out the weft is provided which has better performance related to size stability, mass reduction and wear-resistant property and longer life cycle than conventional ones. CONSTITUTION: Each gripper comprises: (i) a strongly structured supporting member(11) formed by aromatic carbon fiber poltruded by thermo-hardening materials; (ii) a metallic main body(12) carrying a weft tattering device(P); (iii) a wear plate(15) which protects the lower part of the front of the gripper; and (iv) at least one contacting member filled up with thermoplastic materials. A strap(N), the strongly structured supporting member(11), the metallic main body(12) and the wear plate(15) are inserted into the inside of the contacting member, or they are coupled together by screws which are coupled to the inside of a screw-type metal mounting portion formed in the metal main body(12) or the weft gripping device(P).
