PURPOSE: A device for controlling power of a mobile telephone terminal in direct sequence-code division multiple access(DS-CDMA), is provided to improve signal/noise(S/N) ratio from a final output terminal and to stably transmit minimum output power, through controlling an output power gain by an automatic gain control(AGC) circuit, a variable gain power amplifier, or a variable gain drive amplifier, while improving a dynamic range of the terminal,. CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling power of a mobile telephone terminal in direct sequence-code division multiple access(DS-CDMA), comprises a BBA processor(10), an automatic gain control(AGC) circuit(20), an intermediate frequency(IF) filter circuit(30), a mixer(40), a drive amplifier(50), a radio frequency(RF) filter circuit(60), a variable gain power amplifier(70), a duplexer(80), and a terminal modem(90). The BBA processor(10) converts a digital base band signal into an analog base band signal, simultaneously outputting a specific IF signal according to the converted analog base band signal. The AGC circuit(20) automatically amplifies the IF signal according to a gain control signal. The IF filter circuit(30) filters the amplified IF signal. The mixer(40) combines an output signal of the IF filter(30) and a local oscillating signal, to output a transmission IF signal. The variable gain power amplifier(70) amplifies the output signal into a power signal of a specific output power, to transmit to a base station via a transceiving antenna. The terminal modem(90) applies a specific digital base band signal to the BBA processor(10), while outputting the gain control signal.
