PURPOSE: A method for controlling the direction of the wind of an air conditioner is provided to uniformly distribute discharged air in a room space by changing a rotation angle degree of a left and right wind control louver and changing the operation speed of the louver. CONSTITUTION: A method for controlling the direction of the wind of an air conditioner including left and right wind control louvers for controlling left and right directions of air discharge, includes the steps of reciprocating the left and right wind control louver in a first angle range(X), and reciprocating the left and right wind control louver in a second angle range(Y), the second angle range being larger than the first angle range, wherein the performing number of the first step and the second step are differently set and the operation speed of the left and right wind control louver is different in the first and second steps.
