PURPOSE: A device for driving a radiant diode is provided to supply a device for reducing consumption of electric current according to driving an LED(Light Emitting Diode) and to supply information about driving the LED with the type of displaying with letters. CONSTITUTION: The device for driving the radiant diode includes an LED(Light Emitting Diode). The following displays the waveform of time(T) to driving voltage(V) according to driving the LED. The power is saved by shorting the power with a regular period without supplying power during L, the time, on which the LED is on. The pulses l1, ... , ln are generated and a switching portion is switched without maintaining the continuous high state during the time, on which the LED is on. For example, one pulse, the time of section of t1-t2 is 1ms.
