Polymer dispersion and process for its preparation

The invention relates to a starch-based polymer dispersion comprising a graft copolymer of starch and monomers. The invention also relates to a process for the preparation of the said dispersion and to its use as an additive for the sizing of paper and as an agent that can be introduced at the wet end of a paper-making machine in order to increase the wet and dry strength of paper.
