PURPOSE: A method for automatically measuring backward performance between a terminal and a base station in a code division multiple access(CDMA) system, is provided to reduce a measuring time of the backward performance and to perform a convenient measure, by automatically measuring the backward performance from the terminal to the base station to inform an operator of the measured value. And the method is provided for the operator to correctly decide backward performance, as a high-performance computer analyzes a result value of the backward performance and displays the value for the operator. CONSTITUTION: A method for automatically measuring backward performance between a terminal and a base station in a code division multiple access(CDMA) system, comprises the steps of: deciding whether a backward performance measuring menu selected by an operator is a terminal access probe acquisition test; if so, receiving a noise generator mode, a range of an Eb/No value and number of times for Markov test calls from a main processor; calculating a value of number of times for a test execution by the main processor with the Eb/No value range and the number of times for Markov test calls, and initializing a test coefficient; initializing a system to execute the terminal access probe acquisition test; demanding transmission of Markov test calls to the terminal by an RS-422 controller of the base station; deciding the noise generator mode by the main processor; if the mode is an Eb/No mode, setting an Markov test calls environment corresponding to the Eb/No mode by the main processor; transmitting the Markov test calls, of which an environment is decided, to the base station by the terminal; cutting off transmission of Markov test calls by the RS-422 controller; executing a terminal access probe acquisition test between the terminal and the base station, and storing the result value in a log file by an RS-232 controller of the base station; comparing a value of testing number of times and the test coefficient to decide whether to be equal by the main processor; if not, increasing a test coefficient by one and progressing to the step of demanding transmission of Markov test calls, and if equal, displaying the result of the terminal access probe acquisition to the operator by the main processor.
