PURPOSE: A speaker sound volume regulation apparatus in video conferencing is provided to facilitate use by regulating sound volume depending on the distance between a video conferencing device and a user. CONSTITUTION: A video input unit(10) receives the image and voice of the user. A distance recognition unit(12) recognizes the distance between the user and the video input unit(10) according to the input image size and the sound volume. A sound volume regulation unit(14) regulates the sound volume output to a speaker(18) depending on the distance data detected by the distance recognition unit(12). A control unit(14) stores the video and audio data input in a memory(20) or outputs the video and audio data stored in the memory(20) to a network access unit(24) via a video/audio codec(22).
