A METHOD FOR BROADCASTING SHORT MESSAGE SERVICE

PURPOSE: A short message broadcasting method in code division multiple access system is provided to integrate broadcasting message method by defining all the relating transmission rules. CONSTITUTION: The first step is to decide whether a short message transmitted to paging channel alignment from BCP(Base station Control Processor) is requesting broadcasting. The second step is to decide broadcasting method by checking BCAST_INDEX bit, which decides broadcasting paging cycle's execution, when the short message is requesting broadcasting. The third step is to generate page messages continuously up to slot numbers of maximum paging slot cycle so as to be suitable for SMS(Short Message Service) when the method decided in the step two is defined as a multiple slot broadcasting paging transfer method. The fourth step is to decide whether the size of broadcasting message is within the size of one slot when the method decided in the step two is defined as a periodic broadcasting paging transmission method. The fifth step is to execute transmit broadcasting message without any page message or generate a general page message once in accordance with the result of the fourth step.
