HOLD/RESET MODE SELECTION COUNTER

PURPOSE: A hold/reset mode select counter and a method for operating thereof are provided to control that a hold/reset mode select counter counts and makes the reset only in need and to reduce the number of counter blocks. CONSTITUTION: In the hold/reset mode select counter and the method for operating thereof, a counter portion(10), a mode selecting portion(20), a control portion(30) and a detecting portion(40) are included. The counter portion(10) is composed of counter blocks for operating the real counter. The mode selecting portion(20) calculates the length of the count enable signal(CNTEN). The control portion(30) enables or disables the counter portion(10). The detecting portion(40) detects the counter value and generates the signal(DET) for holding the counter portion(10).
