PURPOSE: A method of producing reduced metal from metal containing substance and a mobile furnace for producing reduced metal are provided to obtain a reduced metal having a high estimation as a material to be refined by an electric furnace without damaging the facility since a solid reducing agent layer is formed onto the furnace. CONSTITUTION: A method comprising the steps of preparing a solid reducing agent layer onto a furnace, forming a recess portion at a surface of the layer, depositing material onto the surface of the solid reducing agent layer, melting at least one time the material on the furnace which is horizontally moving and isolating metallic content from gangue and ash content, and discharging the metallic content to the outside of the furnace.
