ISOLATING METHOD OF PANAXADIOL & PANAXATRIOL FROM GINSENG EXTRACT(SAPONIN) BY USING BENZENE ETHYLENE RESIN

PURPOSE: An isolating method of panaxadiol & panaxatriol from ginseng extract(saponin) by using benzene ethylene resin is provided. Extracted panaxadiol is useful in activating SOD1, and panaxatriol is applicable to improve brain activity. CONSTITUTION: An isolating method of panaxadiol & panaxatriol from ginseng extract(saponin) comprises the following steps : (i) extracting ginseng with water or spirits, followed by filtration to obtain ginseng extract ; (ii) adsorbing saponin from ginseng extract by using benzene ethylene resin ; (iii) washing the benzene ethylene resin with 10 times of water, based on the volume of resin ; (iv) washing the benzene ethylene resin again with 8 times of 20% spirits to remove non-saponin ingredients ; (v) rinsing the benzene ethylene resin with 8 times of 30-40 % spirits to isolate panaxatriol ; and then (vi) rinsing the benzene ethylene resin with 16 times of 40-100 % of spirits to isolate panaxadiol.
