PURPOSE: A method for auto channel tracking of a television is provided to reduce the number of steps which are performed at a fine tuning point so as to reduce the auto channel tracking time. CONSTITUTION: A method for auto channel tracking of a television includes following steps. At the first step(s120), an ADC(analog digital conversion) voltage is checked by moving a predetermined step to a negative direction from a fine tuning point when the auto channel tracking is operated. At the second step, the ADC voltage is compared with a first reference voltage, and a predetermined step is moved(s230) to a positive direction when the ADC voltage is higher than the first reference voltage, and the ADC voltage is compared with the reference voltage(s240). At the third step, a predetermined step is moved(s330) to a negative direction when the ADC voltage is lower than the first reference voltage, and the ADC voltage is compared with a second reference voltage(s340). At the forth step, the channel is memorized(s400) when the ADC voltage is lower than the second reference voltage.
