PURPOSE: An apparatus for processing a video signal for a digital still camera is provided to improve a quality of an image displayed by performing an interpolation and an enhancement for a video signal in horizontal and vertical directions only using four line memories. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for processing a video signal for a digital still camera includes an interpolating part(64), an enhancing part(65), and a luminance and chroma signal converting part(66). The interpolating part(64) generates red, green and blue signals consisting of the predetermined number of bits by interpolating video data inputted from four line memories. The enhancing part(65) processes a video signal based on the video data from the four line memories and an interpolated video signal for enhancing an image outline of the video signal. The luminance and chroma signal converting part(66) converts the color signal outputted from the enhancing part(65) into a luminance signal and a chroma signal consisting of a predetermined number of bits.
